“Lunga Protezione” (long protection) is launched, the first product for elderly care
During 1999, Unisalute tunes up the first LTC product (Long Term Care) for the elderly, which can also be sold on an individual basis. The product, called “Lunga Protezione” is characterized by the fact that there are no age limits upon entry and uses a “splitting” system as the German model, instead of “capitalization”, towards which the Italian market is oriented. Unisalute publish a “Handbook of LTC policies” both on paper and on the net. The website www.unisalute.it is also created. In its initial phase, it is oriented to providing health information and generating individual production through online quotes.
