The Unipol Group has given more than €1 million to finance the reconstruction of the Elementary School Pietro Santini in Loro Piceno (Macerata), declared uninhabitable because of the damage suffered during the earthquake shock on 24 August 2016.

The money was handed over in Rome today by Pierluigi Stefanini, Chairman, and Carlo Cimbri, Chief Executive Officer, in person to Vasco Errani, Special Government Commissioner for the reconstruction of the territories of the Municipalities in the Regions of Abruzzo, Lazio, Marche and Umbria.

The donation – which falls within the framework of the actions announced by Unipol on 26 August for the benefit of the population affected by the earthquake and its policyholders – was the result of an internal subscription endorsed by the Group through voluntary fundraising from employees, which was accompanied by the voluntary contributions of the Managers and the spontaneous contributions from the Group’s large agency network, as well as a Company grant, which doubled the amount collected
from its collaborators.
