Unipol, as a cooperative company, decides to open up to the world of work and decides to have trade unions enter into its shareholding structure. The first negotiations start with CGIL and, facilitated by the personal friendship between Cinzio Zambelli and Luciano Lama, Secretary General, lead the Union to soon enter the corporate structure with 50,000 shares. Three representatives of CGIL (A. Giunti, A. Marianetti, and A. Viciani) join the Board of Directors.

UIL is also immediately interested in the possibility of a relationship with Unipol and quickly decides to subscribe for 200,000 shares, an investment that is four times greater than that of CGIL. Three representatives of UIL (A. Rossi, G. Muci, and O. Torda) join the Board of Directors.
