Unipol Group hosts the centenary conference for ICMIF, the international cooperative and mutual insurance federation
From 26 to 28 October at the Marriott Park Hotel in Rome

The Unipol Group is hosting the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF) Centenary Conference. The event is scheduled to be held in Rome from today to 28 October: 197 of the most important mutual and cooperative insurance companies from 60 different countries that comprise the Federation are meeting to discuss current and future major issues affecting the insurance market.
The theme of the ICMIF Centenary Conference, of which the Unipol Group is a founding member, will be “Leading with purpose” and the various plenary sessions will focus on insurance business trends and strategies increasingly geared towards sustainability and the challenges facing the industry, especially after the numerous changes wrought by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The global mutual and cooperative insurance sector has grown by 39.0% since 2007, exceeding the total worldwide insurance market growth (27.1%) by 11.9 percentage points, and has seen the share it holds of the total insurance market increase from 24.0% to 26.3%. The latest research from ICMIF forecasts 2021 figures showing the strongest growth the sector has experienced in ten years.
