Unipol Assicurazioni - Clarifications on press news concerning the task given to Deloitte

With reference to what declared by Mr Giovanni Consorte in the interview given to the newspaper “La Repubblica” and published today, Unipol Assicurazioni hereby clarifies that the task to carry out an audit on accounts and procedures in some sectors of the Company and of its main subsidiaries was resolved by the Board of Directors in the meeting held on 19 January 2006.
Deloitte Financial Advisory Services S.p.A. was entrusted with this task, once having asked the opinions of Mr Luca Sirotti, the lawyer entrusted with protecting the Company’s interests, and of Prof. Guido Rossi.
