Bologna Jazz Festival 2021 - Blue Skies

This year edition of Bologna Jazz Festival, held July 7th-29th, will unveil an innovative format. Rather than presenting its traditional autumn edition in city’s main theatres, concerts will take place in open-air locations.

Title of this summer edition is “Blue Skies”, consisting of eight concerts. Content is in perfect keeping with the tradition of the festival, even if it’ll see less international guests in number due to this peculiar time (Erik Truffaz, John Patitucci). This year jazz mainly speaks Italian: Fabrizio Bosso, Pasquale Mirra and Gianluca Petrella, Roberto Gatto, Enrico Rava and Andrea Pozza, Piero Bittolo Bon and the music group Mack.

The Unipol Group has chosen to collaborate in “Correspondenceconcert, a balanced blend of jazz and futuristic sounds, with the duo formed by vibraphonist Pasquale Mirra and trombone player Gianluca Petrella, whose instruments will form part of an electronic show created by the musicians themselves.

The concert will be held at DumBO space on July 9th at 21:30.
