The regions as the engine of sustainable development
Meeting the goals of sustainable development requires a huge effort from all areas of society, the institutions and businesses at international, national and local level. In particular, cities and local regions perform a key role in the implementation of policies and the mobilisation of communities, exerting a real impact on everyone’s lives.
To contribute to the recovery from the Covid-19 crisis, the second event organised by the Secretariat of ASviS (the Italian Sustainable Development Alliance) reflects on recovery plans based on regional action. Back in May, ASviS presented a document containing a sustainable development investment package for cities and regions, with a €200 billion allocation over ten years dedicated to the green transition, the digital transformation of public services, healthcare and combating poverty.
