From crisis to recovery: transforming Europe and Italy with the focus on sustainable development

The Covid-19 pandemic has demonstrated the fragility of our economic, social and institutional systems in the face of global shocks. Initially a health crisis, the pandemic has had serious and unparalleled repercussions on the economy, on society, on employment, on all production sectors and even on the way we share our space. It has shown the systemic vulnerabilities to which our societies are exposed. To bounce back from this crisis, we need solutions that strengthen the transformative resilience of the economy, society and the institutions, which enable us to “step into the future” thanks to the lessons we have learned. In addition, the need to adopt policies that ensure the long term sustainability of our socioeconomic systems, guaranteeing a suitable balance between economic and social requirements and the protection of the environment and ecosystems, has also been highlighted.

The opening event of the Sustainable Development Festival is a chance to examine the issues connected with the recovery at both national and European level. Thanks to the participation of high-profile institutional representatives and leaders of key businesses in strategic sectors, the Festival will be a day of unprecedented reflection on how to guarantee a recovery process that makes Italy more sustainable and resilient.

The event will be available also in live streaming, connecting to the institutional pages of ASviS.
