With reference to the news recently published in the press, it is hereby stated that in the evening of 16 June 2005 a meeting between the representatives of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria S.A. (hereinafter referred to as ‘BBVA’) and of Unipol Assicurazioni S.p.A. took place.
