Unipol Assicurazioni - Clarifications on news published by the press: press release 2

With reference to the news published today by the newspaper ‘Il Giornale’ and by some press agencies concerning the inquiry set up by the Rome Prosecutor ‘about Unipol’s bid for BNL’, the following is hereby clarified:

• no representative of the Unipol Group received any notification of being entered under formal investigation;
• in the past months, as it is known, the prosecutors in charge of this inquiry had questioned the Chairman Giovanni Consorte as person acquainted with the facts.

Consorte provided the aforesaid prosecutors with all the requested information.
