Unipol Assicurazioni: clarifications on news published by the press about the stake on Hopa

We refer to the news published by some press organs regarding an alleged understanding with Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A. for the sale of the participating interest held by Unipol Assicurazioni S.p.A. in HOPA S.p.A.
In this respect, we clarify that our Company has not received any formal acquisition offer concerning the aforesaid shareholding and that mere discussions and preliminary valuations were held with the above mentioned Bank, which for the moment being have not led to any agreement thereupon.
