The fifth edition of the Sustainable Development Festival will be taking place at a key moment in the path of our country and Europe towards a new development model. The recovery from the economic and social effects of Covid through national funding and the Next Generation EU, the G20 under the Italian presidency, Cop26, which will be preceded by the pre-Cop and the Cop dedicated to young people under the Italian presidency, are crucial stages in a path that started in 2015.
Also for this reason, the Festival will for the first time be opened with the presentation of the AsviS Annual Report on Sustainable Development Goals, which, in addition to providing updates on the international community’s commitment to implementing Agenda 2030, will be examining this country’s progress with respect to the implementation of SDGs and will be putting forward an all-encompassing framework of policy recommendations to emphasize the areas in which action must be taken to ensure the economic, social and environmental sustainability of our development model. The contents of the Report will form the basis for an in-depth reflection on the dimensions of sustainable development that will be carried out during the 17-day event at the time of the national thematic events organized by the Alliance Working Groups, each of which dedicated to one or more Sustainable Development Goals, and hundreds of contributions from local communities that will be enlivening the programme with a rich schedule of initiatives including conferences, workshops, seminars, book presentations, shows and much more.
The opening event will therefore provide the ideal setting for encouraging an exchange of ideas and concrete proposals on how to ensure a recovery that may make Italy and Europe more sustainable and resilient, thanks to the participation of leading representatives of institutions and senior executives of key companies in strategic business sectors.
Speakers will take the floor at the Auditorium of Palazzo delle Esposizioni (staircase at Via Milano 9a - Rome), while participants may follow the live broadcast of the event on festivalsvilupposostenibile.it, on the ASviS Facebook page and on the ASviS YouTube channel.
