The event on environmental, economic and social sustainability themes will be back from 21 May to 6 June. Hundreds of events throughout the country to take stock of Italy’s position with respect to the 17 Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

The Sustainable Development Festival, the largest international sustainability event that takes place across Italy for a full 17 days, as many as the number of the Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals signed by 193 countries in 2015, is back and will be involving businesses, civil society, institutions and citizens. Fight against climate change and energy transition, technological innovation and the future of labour, fight against poverty and inequalities, food health and security, education and lifelong training, international cooperation, infrastructure and sustainable mobility, inter-religious dialogue and the future of Europe, protection of the environment and economic development. The 2019 Festival will be addressing today’s and tomorrow’s great challenges for Italy that are at the centre of the cultural and political debate, involving citizens and, in particular, young people.

During the Festival, of which Unipol Gruppo is a partner and sponsor, hundreds of events (conferences, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, shows, sporting events, book presentations, documentaries, etc.) linked to the Sustainable Development Goals will be held across the country from 21 May to 6 June.

The Festival has become the national reference point for an increasingly open and inclusive debate on sustainable development issues, which are key for the present and future of our country, Europe and the whole world”, underlined the Chairman of ASviS, Pierluigi Stefanini. “The students’ ‘climate strikes’ have called decision makers to their responsibilities and obtained an impressive coverage in the media. Now, no one can turn a blind eye any longer. Now is time to make a change.

On 28 May in Milan, the Assolombarda Auditorium will be hosting the event “Le imprese e la finanza per lo sviluppo sostenibile. Opportunità da cogliere e ostacoli da rimuovere” (Businesses and finance for sustainable development. Opportunities to be seized and obstacles to be overcome). The senior executives of some of the largest companies and business organisations will be taking part in the event. For Unipol Gruppo, the CEO Carlo Cimbri will be participating in the panel discussion “La sostenibilità come modello di consumo e di business. Esperienze, ostacoli e prospettive” (Sustainability as a consumption and business model. Experiences, obstacles and prospects).
